Gaithersburg is located northwest of Washington, D.C. and is considered a suburb and a primary city within Washington Statistical area. It is the fourth overall largest incorporated city in the entire state of Maryland. Much of the town on the eastern section is older and features distinct historical landmarks and buildings and especially the historic central business district called "Olde Towne". The west side of the city contains many more wealthy neighborhoods that were built to embrace New Urbanism. The city features great land marks and a lot of history, bringing in tourists from all over.
