Preventative Maintenance Inspection
Everyone knows you are supposed to change your vehicles oil and rotate the tires every so many miles, this has become common sense in our society. Ignoring the oil in your vehicle is obviously foolish and is doomed to end in disaster. However, these common-sense ideas are not always projected on our vehicles wheelchair accessible conversions. While we may spend just as much, if not more, on our mobility conversions; we do not view maintenance as such an obvious necessity. Failing to maintain your mobility vehicles conversion can result in damages just as devastating as a motor with no oil. You could end up replacing ramp hinges, door tracts, power keeling actuators, and even ramp motors. However bringing your mobility vehicle to one of Total Mobility Services Pennsylvania or Maryland locations for a Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) can help you avoid that extra expense and hassle.
When you bring your mobility vehicle in for a PMI, the technician will inspect, lubricate, and update your conversion and mobility equipment. They will begin by performing a visual inspection on the moving parts of the ramp and motor, taking time to ensure everything is still set to factory specifications. After inspecting and adjusting the ramp, they move to your kneeling system and mobility products, again making sure everything is working properly and set to factory specs. They will then properly lubricate the moving parts, it is important to have a certified mobility technician apply the lubrication, especially for hand controls, as improper lubrication can have serious ramifications. Finally, the tech will ensure your conversion’s computer is current with updates.
All of this is necessary to the longevity of your mobility vehicles conversion, and over time, has proven to be well worth it. We encourage all our customers, whether commercial or private use, to take advantage of our Preventative Maintenance Inspections twice a year in the spring and fall. Offering you the peace of mind in knowing that your vehicle is ready for all seasons.
